Notes: Yarrow has seen historical use as a medicine, often because of tis astringent effects. Yarrow has been used to treat inflammation such as hemorrhoids, and also headaches. It can slow down bleeding. Infusions of yarrow, taken internally or externally, are said to speed recovered from severe bruising. The flower is said to have a mild stimulant effect, and has been used as a snuff. Modern North American yarrow is a combination of native and introduced varieties and hybrids.
